If you are on the streets for a PhotoWalk, there are few etiquettes that you ought to abide by as you are no longer at your studio.
Avoid clicking without permission: Before you start of clicking snaps on your camera, it would be a great idea to enquire about any restrictions on photography at the location. If you are photographing people, it’s not a bad idea to talk to the person and make him / her feel comfortable or even ask permission. In most cases, there shouldn’t be a “no” coming your way (infect you will find loads of enthusiastic people posing for a click) and in case it’s a no, politely say OK and keep moving.
Carry the required equipment with you: it’s not the best idea to carry your entire arsenal of camera bodies and lenses along with you as it could be difficult to manage the stuff and change lenses on a street photowalk! Carry just the right equipment and lenses based on your photography genre plan for the day.
Watch your steps: it’s great to get involved but not too much while you are on a busy street. You should have an extra careful eye on where you are moving and avoid creating a scene on a busy street. Also do a background study about the area where you are planning the shoot as you need to be careful while carrying expensive equipment while on the move.
Take Home: street photography can be rewarding when done at the right time with the right equipment. Watch out for those awesome Candids that the streets have to offer!
